Help needed for ram reports please

Hey guys..

I was wondering if anyone could help me please? I have x3 2gb sticks of OCZ ram installed and my windows and bios are only picking up 4gb, Now I have ran 2 programs that show me having 6GB installed which I have attached for you to look at I was wondering if you could maybe tell me what the problem is please?

I have had my CPU off and had a look for bent pins and there is none what so ever so I'm kinda running out of ideas what it could be. Could my timings be wrong? Any help would be really appreciated

wheres it saying 4gb usable?

look in the bios in hardware info does it say 6144gb there?

what mb you using?

EDIT: if windows and bios is only seeing 4gb usable then ignore cpu-z,the bios will be correct,could be like surveyor says and overtightened heatsink or could be dead ram module/faulty ram slot or not enough qpi/vtt voltage for the cpu imc

CPU-Z is seeing all 6GB so where is it only showing 4GB?

What CPU cooler are you using?

Sometimes if the cooler is over tightened it can cause RAM to "disappear".

Thanks for the reply guys.. When you ask the MB I guess you mean Mobo? Im sorry I ain't that clued with all this forgive me.. And I think it's just a standard one I got with my I7 processor if thats what you mean.

Have you tried re-seatting the RAM?

Yes everything is stock I haven't bought any pieces for it yet.

is it a gigabyte/asus/motherboard ect?

where the ram is installed now pull out two sticks and leave one in then turn on pc,if it boots up turn off and test the other two sticks in the same slot,then test the other two ram slots

try to find which slot is not working/booting pc up or whther its a faulty ram stick

ocz ram have a lifetime warranty so you can rma them for a new set
