Help Needed For Surround Setup

I'm looking to set up an eyefinity or surround system and need some advice regarding the best cards for what I need.

I'm currently running an i5 2500k @4GHz and an MSI 7850 @1100/1135. I generally play mmo type games, rather than fps and need enough welly to support 5760x1080 at a decent fps. I've not run sli or crossfire before and I'm not sure what to do graphics card wise. I love my 7850 but don't know if adding another 7850 card is going to be enough to run 3 screens? Although the 7850 is a great single card, I'm also getting a little concerned seeing all the recent issues people are having with AMD cards in crossfire.

I have a max budget around £700 but if I don't need to spend that much, for what I need, then that would be the preferred option. I'm basically looking for the minimum cost for two cards that would support what I need.

Cheers.

No, I don't have the three monitors yet, so can't see how a single 7850 performs. I'm hoping someone has tried 7850 in crossfire in eyefinity, as obviously just getting another 7850 is going to be the cheapest option for me now. Although don't mind going green and selling the card, if surround is more stable than eyefinity.

Hi,

As of yesterday I have an eyefinity set up (3 x 23" Samsung 120hz @ 5760 x 1080). I run it off 2 HIS 7950's which I was running pretty much at stock yesterday for what testing i managed to get done. I just wanted to say that although it was a pain in the hoop to get running correctly it was so worth it.

The only game I have tested with so far was BF3 campaign and the cards were more than happy to deal with the resolution even on high settings. I went for the 7950's in paticular because of the 3Gb ram and their overclock ability. So in the same situation as you that is what I went with.

So for eyefinity/surround do I have to get 2 x 3GB cards?
