Hey guys i've been given the task of building a new pc for my dad,( he hasn't updated his in over 6 years)

Here's what i have in mind:

AMD Phenom II x2 Dual core 550 Link
Asus M4A785TD-V EVO AMD785G Link
Kingston HyperX 4GBDDR PC3-14400 c8 Link
Kingston SSDnow V Series 128GB Link
Samsung SH-S223B/BEBE 22DVD RW Link
Antex Basiq Plus 550W Mod power supply Link
Coolermaster Elite 335 Case Link

Given the mobo has a graphic card, this is optional.
BFG GeForce GTS 250 OC 1024MB GDDR3 PCI-Express Graphics Card Link

Any recommendation wanted, and the main use of the computer is Photoshop, and mainly photo editing, very little video editing.
Thanks for your help guys

Hi, you'd be better getting an athlon quad core than a phenom dual core, given his needs, and you wont need the gfx card, the onboard will be more than adequate

Looks good, couple of suggestions:

I would trade the CPU for one of the new Athlon Quad cores, having a look at this review - in the kinds of tasks the PC will be used for one of these CPUs would be great.

The RAM is good, but this is in stock and looks mighty fast (and costs £5 more than the cheapest DDR3 kit).

If you are going to spend that kind of money on an SSD, then you may as well get a fast one - not the value one. This is excellent and this is the best all-round, but it's on pre-order.

This case is £5 more, but much better.

If you want to spend that kind of money on a graphics card - get this. Alternatively, this ATI card is excellent.

Edit: I'm guessing the graphics card is just for GPU-Acceleration of photoshop. With this in mind, wouldn't something like this be a better bet?
