Help needed - GFX card for HTPC

Hi,

I'm trying to use my PC as an HTPC connected to a Panasonic LCD TV (it has Scart and component inputs only, no DVI). I have a Shuttle SN45G + 6800LE GFX. My problem is, the 6800LE will only connect to the TV via composite (using the s-video -> composite converter thing that gets bundled with the card). From what I can gather, the card does *not* support DVI -> component.

So I'm now thinking that it would be good to get rid of the 6800LE and swap to a card that does do DVI to component. I've heard that the 6600s support DVI -> component.

Question - Would a 6600 be the best way to go for a new card? Is there a better card currently on the market that can handle DVI -> component or VGA -> component?

Any help much appreciated,

Cheers,

Fred

/edit just seen this on OCUK:

ATI Radeon X800 GT (SE) 256MB GDDR3 VIVO All-in-Wonder (AGP) - White Box (GX-012-AT)

Says it can do VGA -> Component HDTV.

Would this be better than getting a 6600?

Yes, this is a quicker card & as it states it can do what your after should give you enough reason to get it i would think.
