:) First of all i would like to introduce myself as i am new to the forum, so hi all. I need help with 2 things so here goes, i was wondering if the temperatures in my new system seem normal CPU-42/45C, MB43/46C, this is under normal conditions, ie no programs etc, just while surfing the net. Just to point out, my case does feel rather warm and not cold at all, here is my pc spec below,

Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe/Wi-Fi AMD 790FX (Socket AM2) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Reaper HPC Enhanced Bandwidth Edition Dual Channel DDR2 (OCZ2RPR800C44GK)

Zalman CNPS9700-NT nVidia Tritium CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2/LGA775)

NZXT Alpha Classic Series Silent Midi-Tower Case

Corsair TX 650W ATX2.2 SLi Compliant PSU

BFG 8800 GTS 640MB

AMD PHENOM 9550 X4

Ive also used 3dmark proffesional 06, i know nothing about this at all, i ran the test anyway and as far as im concerned i came out a very poor score 10073, i thought i would have got better as i have a half decent build. Can anyone help me with improving this score?, heres the link to my results,

Oh and before i go, my pc isnt overclocked, i havent got a clue about overclocking, i dont want to muck around with my new build and end up damaging something, any help on this aswell would be great. I know there is a lot of guides on how to overclock your pc, but its all to complicated for me, any easy to understand step by step guide on how to get the best from my pc is much appreciated, thx all kind regards TRIG:)

IIRC HSF of that graphic card leaks heat (awful idle consumption) into case instead of blowing all of it directly out so that's going to warm things up.

Especially when cooling of that case is half a***d. You should start by "Dremeling" holes of intake and exhaust fans.

That case is pretty poor hence your bad temperatures.

3dmark is correct for a 1st gen 8800GTS especially with an AMD processor at stock.
In fact im surprised you hit 10k :)

id say thats due to you having a 8800 GTS 640MB
id say get a 4850 and you probly get 15000

thats a nice score in 3dmark to be honest
i had to tweak my old amd X2 system for ages to get to 9500

Hi again all, i think my temperatures are a bit to high now, i know you said i have a poor case mda96bjh which might cause the bad temperatures, both my MB AND CPU where 55c last night and i was getting a bit worried, the case on the left is very hot and at the top at the back, also the back is very very hot especially at the power pack, is there anything i can do at all to get these temperatures down?. I wouldent like to see my temperatures when playing crysis, im scared to start it up, thx all, please help, kind regards:]

Try stressing the cpu while monitoring the temps, so you can find you max temp and then you will know if you need to do anything about it.

I allways though that amd cpu's require more voltage that intel and for that very reason have allways run a bit toasty.
