i tried to send you a message but overclockers wont let me.

You need to press the "Trust" button at the bottom right of my post or the little msn icon under my post count.

By the way, all your images aren't working for me.

I'd build it outside the case, it sounds like it want to POST, but some power issue is stopping it.

What happens if you unplug everything apart from the PSU, CPU & memory (1 stick)?

Make sure the HSF is firmly in and that the fan is plugged into the CPU fan header specifically.

well my cpu fan is 4pin and i have put it to a 3pin slot. there is only one 4pin slot wher i put the power supply fan i reckon. i hav not tried without my graphic card so i will try and let u know as soon as possible

hi ive got set everything outside and i was wondering how do i turn it on. shall i use a screw driver or the power switch from the case. plz advice.

hi i just put the stuff outside and connected everything but again it wont power up, when i press power button the cpu fan works for just a second like it moves but nothing else works and stuff. so i dont get it, do u think my motherboard is faulty. let m no please.

This is the first pic you posted, see that connector at the top right with the red, yellow and two black wires? Remove that immediately, it's a power supply for a 1.44mb floppy disk and carries a 5v plus a 12v supply. You may have already damaged the motherboard by putting that there.
Replace the heatsink and fan onto the cpu (I hope you've got some cpu paste) and connect the 4pin connector wired to the cpu fan onto that top right connector (notice how it's printed cpu fan on the motherboard right next to it?)
Switch on and pray you didn't zap the board with that floppy molex.

well guess what happened i tried it 4 the last time and this time the board just gave up when i powered it up. there was smoke coming out of one of these cylindrical things on it and i quickly switched it off. i was wondering if again anything happened to ma ram psu and geforce 8800 gts, i think i never guna like asus p5k again this is the second time i am going to rma it and i am losing so much money delivering this. does overclockers cover my shipping costs. plz adise.
thanks to everyone who helped me with this matter. thanku

well i think i just damaged it ron. i thought it was for the psu fan but there was any other connector for the psu fan, DAMN that was the mistake then wasnt it.

If you're forcing the connector into the socket, you can be sure you're doing it wrong. It should go in with ease, and you should hear a tiny click sound when it is secured. I'm not sure how you forced that connector in.

You need to have a break now. Start fresh in the morning when your head is clear. Anyway, there's not much you can do now that the mobo is smoked.

parmz you really need to read the motherboard manual mate.

my msn is tsjhangra -at- hotmail.com if you need anymore help.

That looks like an expensive system for a first DIY build. I hope you haven't killed too much and I admire your gutts to take it on, but if you have any mates with pc building skills I would ask them to check your work. I did have help on my first system, it just didn't make sense to blow up all those components straight away. :)

Your motherboard manual is your bible, always read cover to cover. One day it may save your life. :D
