hi everyone,
i have a problem for you to advise me on. i bought thiis stuff from overclockers to build a pc thinking its a piece of cake. this is the first time for me.
this is what i bought

intel core 2 duo 2.13
leadtek geforce 8800 gts
asus p5k motherboard p35
2gb g.skill pc2 6400
250gb samsung hard driv

nzxt apollo gaming case
ezcool 550 w psu ( made a mistake buyin cheap psu)

when i set it up the pc wont boot after pressing power button. when i turned the psu on there was that green light on the motherboard so i returned the motherboard to overclockers and they replaced it.

when i put the new motherboard and set it up i had another problem. whwn turned the switch on the psu the psu sparkedd!!!! and stopped working, i don no what it casued it. my only concern now is did it mess up my motherbpard or any other components. i have just ordered 550w ocul huntkey psu to check my motherboard. i liked the pcs now i hate it and i m givin up on building it agaion if it dont work. any1 hav ny ideas
parmz
thanks

You bought good quality kit... then bought a terrible cheapass PSU, you asked for trouble mate lol.

A decent branded psu for about 50 quid would have gave you no problems

You can't possibly say that! A first build always has things going wrong, forgetting cables etc. You have now learnt your lesson and next time it will be much easier.

You should RMA that PSU that blew up, pile o'crap :D

I would say you would be "unlucky" if it had done any damage to other components, cheap PSU though.... You could just RMA the board say it never worked if it has died

hi everyone

hi everyone i just recieved it my power supply 550w ocuk huntkey and i plugged it in. this time another problem i think my psu just got myh motherboard. this time when i power the board there is a flashing green light again and again. b4 it used to be constant green light. now its flashing. does anyone hav idea what is going on here.

your not shorting out the board are you? Did you screw the motherboard on to brass contacts or straight onto the case? Also make sure anything else is not causing a short circuit anywhere.

Brass contacts seperate the board from the case. They are like screws but have bits to screw into at the top.

You put these between the case and the motherboard, so the motherboard doesn't touch the metal case and short circuit.

hi i just called overclockers and they said build the system outside the case now i dont no how to build it outside the case. shall i just pace the stuff on my table which is made of wood.

Yep.

PSU + motherboard + CPU + RAM (1 stick for now) + gfx card only. See if it posts

hi i put all these screws up and everything and now its got that continous light thanks. now i have a same problem like earlier my faulty board wouldntr turn on b4 and they replaced it, now this board wouldnt turn on. why why does this happen to me. i ve been was ting 12 days now building this pc. on youtube they make it look sos easy. any1 plz help hw to start this pc

have you connected up the power switch to the right bits on the motherboard?
Check you haven't gone one over or something, its an easy mistake if you've plugged everything in already

well i have double checked even i tried to switch it on by a screw driver but it still wont boot. man i hate this i reckon i am going to send everything back to overclockers.
