Right ocuk people.

Could do with some advise please. Want to upgrade my current rig. Still doing a great job, but i think its time to move on from it. Mostly used for gaming. BF3/BC2, CSS, and everything else.

Current rig is:

Q6600 @ 3.4
OCZ Vanquisher Cooler
6gb Geil Ram
corsair 850w psu
twin forzr 5850
creative audigy 2 zs
and a few sata hard drives
two dvd drives
coolmaster cm-690 II dominator case

From them il be using the PSU, GFx Card and the Case and hard drives. Got mouse/keyboard, Monitor and OS, sound card, speakers and gaming headset etc.

Parts that i only need is: Cpu, Ram, Cooler, Mobo and i would like a SSD drive too.
60/64Gb will be enough as i will only use it as a boot drive.

The Mobo needs to have a lot of Sata ports as i will be connecting 4x hard drives and 2x dvd drives. May connect more Hd in future.

Budget? £450ish

That cpu cooler looks massive! But then again i've havn't bought any in a good few years so i've forgotten how they look like :p

Yea just having a look on that motherboard now. that spec does look very good.

For £90 that is a hell of a deal.

It is only £28 more than the 64GB version but offers twice the capacity and faster write speeds. If you can stretch your budget to get this SSD, I would - as it will make your life administering your C: drive much easier.

It's very tempting. No brainer. Looks like i'll be getting that.

Also i'll be selling my old parts on MM once a get a chance. If i can get a few quids back i'll be happy

^ Nice. One last thing, How the hell do i fit a SSD on? Take it im gona need a bracket or something?

Since SSDs don't have any moving parts you could just stick it to the side of your case - though most people buy a bracket like this.

That said, if you have a later version of the cm-690 II dominator case it may already come with a 2.5in SSD bay adapter.

I've got the Lite Version. Need to double check

^ Thanks. I was just about to take a panel off to find out LOL.

1 last question, what/which sata cable do i need? Will any do?
