As the title says i recently purchased the above and im new to overclocking
i can get it to run fine on stock voltages upto 2.67 but any higher and it it all goes wrong (wont boot)

The problem i have is setting the voltages, multipliers and fsb. (bios settings)

At the moment i have the fsb on 333 when i do this my 800 memory goes up to over 900mhz so i take it down to 667 then it runs at 840. But then its overclocking my memory too.

Is this the right way?
Someone please help.

My cooler is a asus silent square and my temps are 33 idle and 43 loaded.

THIS IS A NOOB GUIDE IT WILL KILL YOUR MOBO IF YOU RUN THE VOLTS SUGGESTED IN THE FIRST POST THE REASON WHY I AM GIVING YOU IT IS SO YOU CAN LEARN

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=115217

sorry for caps its so you actually read through all the pages

i will give you some tips

cpu freq - 401 (dont set at 390-400 stresses NB too much)
dram freq - 802 mhz
make sure you know your ram timings

cpu vcore should be about 1.5v
ram voltage should be 2.15v
you will need to find out all other voltages on your own put too much through NB and you will fry it
everything in cpu config should be disabled apart from 1 of the things - execute disable bit

Thanks Psycho Sonny

no problem, i notice you also have the same ram as me - it is shocking if you want to overclock it at its stock settings, i cany get it to do 805 mhz, highest stable has been 802mhz, but i am running 4Gb of it

ill give you some more help (this is not guaranteed to work but it should)

ai tuning - manual
cpu freq - 401
dram freq - 802
pci-e freq - 101
pci clock - 33.3
spread spec - disable
mem voltage - 2.15
cpu vcore - 1.5v
fsb termination 1.4v
nb vcore - set this below 1.65V (do not go near 1.65V it will kill your NB so set it at the second lowest setting cant remember what that is maybe 1.5v )
sb vcore - 1.6v
ich chipset voltage - auto (dont know what this does but i run mine at max since your a noobie i would leave it on auto)

now go to northbridge chipset config

memory remap - disable (only enable if you have 4gb)
configure dram by spd - disable

put the following in going downwards
4 - official
4 - official
4 - official
12 - official
5 - official
25 - official is 22 buy you can only set 20 or 25 so go with 25
6 - non official (this is a timing i found to be safe for this ram)
10 - non official (stock mobo setting)
8 - non official (this is a timing i found to be safe)
15 - official

static read control - disable

that should let you hit

401 x 8 = 3.208 Ghz

if you want faster than this you will need to loosen your timings (i have never tried this on this ram so take this only as a suggestion)

the first 4 timings should be changed to
5
5
5
15

rest of the timings i have no idea what they should be set to but they should also be slackened (if you dont slacken them enough you will fail to even load the bios. this will mean you will either make your mobo useless or will have to clear cmos. sometimes clearing cmos doesnt work with this mobo). after slackening the timings you should be able to hit 900-1000mhz, which is 450-500 fsb which means highest clock you would be able to hit is 4ghz but you have bought a poor cooler im running a titan amanda which at 1.5v and 3.6ghz keeps me at 55C full load

1 final tip do not upgrade bios to the latest version (this is version 1004 i think, stick to the 0910 bios which should be the second latest) newest bios has been reported to cause problems to some people

Yea i had loads of problems when i had 4 sticks of ram - so i took 2 out (works fine now)

at stock i can get my ram to 840 but no further.

it might be something to do with my bios - as i updated it to 1004 the day i got it - but cant go back.

I will try the new settings you sent me tommorrow and let you know how i get on. :)

im running 4 sticks of dominator in my asus p5b deluxe and they are stable at 401 and 402 fsb

they are not stable at 400 fsb or 405 fsb, my settings should work with 4gb of ram since i told you to use 401fsb
