I bet this has been asked 100000 times before, but here goes anyway;

I have a Belkin Router
Speedtouch USB modem.

The modem is connected to the wall via a normal phone connection, which then goes through the modem and into the PC via USB.

The router is connected to the PC via RJ45 I think it is.

Does the modem have to be connected to the router? If so, how as the connection does not match up. If not, how do i set up the wireless internet sharing without connecting the modem to the router?

It depends what router it is. If it's an ADSL router, you don't need the modem any more and the router takes its place.
 
OK, I think that things are looking up. Well, maybe.

I have a Speedtouch stingray modem, which connects to my pc via usb.

Currently, I have set it up like this.

The modem goes from wall into back of computer, then an rj45 comes from computer and goes into the 'modem' connection of the router.

On the front of the router the wireless, internet and modem lights are connected. The internet is on and not flashing.

The main computer which is directly connected to the internet is working correctly - fast page loads and downloads.

The other two computers ( a laptop and desktop) can connect to the belkin router and access the web panel. From looking at the web panel page, the internet connection is showing as connected, however, no pages are loading.

Basically, my main computer which is directly connected to net has internet connection.
All three computers are wireless and can see eachother and are connected to eachother, however, only the directly connected computer is able to use the internet.

I hope that makes sense? Can anybody help?

Best idea would be to ditch what you have and get an ADSL router/modem.

Trust me, it will save you a lot of grief in the long run.
 
You mean a router which has a connection for my USB modem. Do they exist? The router I have says ADSL/Cable router! :(

It will work with ADSL but you will need an Ethernet ADSL modem. Forget about trying to use your USB modem. Either buy an Ethernet ADSL modem or a new router with an integrated ADSL modem.
