help needed please

i went to switch my pc on today and nothing came on the screen and after 15 seconds the power supply switches of,ive tried switching it of at the power button when it comes on but wont let me,then about 15 seconds later the power suply switches itself of again,do you think its the power supply as havent got another one to test it with,using a hyper 580,also dont get any beeps,any help please :eek:
 
sorry for the delay,yes the fans will run and ive got 3 fans plus the artic freezer fan even the graphics card fans run but after 10/15 seconds the power supply switches of,but the light on the back of the supply stays on,it feels like burning to me but i might just be paranoid with it
 
well there has been a some 580 hypers go up in smoke on this forum.

i would be tempted to get a new psu but then its your money and dont wanna say get one and it isnt that lol.

you got one you can borrow to try ?
 
yes i know m8,i was one of the people who said i had no probs with mine how stupid,well took it out cleaned all the inside up and tried plugging the power supply back in,and it started without switching on the power button for 15 seconds again then back to of,will have to try and get another power supply and see if it is that,god i hope so
 
thefishdude tried my psu on my brothers pc and the light came on on the back but when i went to powerup using the power button there was nothing,so looks like i need new psu,well which one to go for m8 any recomendations
