Hey guys. Just bought a new computer yesterday, one of those ivybridge thingys. Specs below:

i7 3770k
asus sabertooth z77
2x crucial ballistix 1866mhz 8gb
4 hard drives
hd 6950
800w psu

Today I linched some components from my old comp to use in the new one: GPU, PSU and hard drives. I connected everything correctly but when I try to boot, no BIOS shown.

Everything powers on, but here's the important bit: some red LEDs show up, all red (this is a bad colour right? :) ). First one to the left of the RAM, then one to the left of the MemOK! thingy, then the VGA, then nothing.

I've tried different configs with the RAM. Took one out too and put it in loads of different slots, then tried the same with the other one. I also tried unplugging the GPU - even though there's no video out on the mobo, if it boots up I'd be able to hear the hard drives working.

So please offer some advice guys, this thing is so shiny and I'm like a kid at christmas - with no presents!

Thanks :)
Juan

resit every component to make sure each one is seated correctly.

swap test your memory too see if the memory is the problem.

run off the onboard gpu, see if that helps

clear the cmos

take out the battery and put it back in

if non of this works... then the board could be faulty and/or the psu.

SOLVED

It's my GPU giving the problems I think, its got a croddy output. But that shouldn't stop it from booting... I don't really know what it was, try and try again just worked in the end.

Thanks for the help Cinderz! Good day to you Sir
