hi all i am currently trying to run 3 pwm fans off of one header using a sata power splitter, this one

i am running 2 cooler master jet flows on my CPU header witch works perfectly
but when i try using said splitter on (sysfan1) all of the fans run constant full speed, so as a temporary measure to kill noise im under volting each fan to 1000 rpm

the problem began when i accidentally shorted 2 pins on the header trying to check the voltage, i cant remember witch 2 pins it was but it made a spark and shut the system down (system is running fine now) but still unable to control the fans

my mobo is MSIA88XM-E45

if anyone could shed some light or a possible fix i would greatly appreciate it
any questions feel free to ask
thanks again

@snips86x

thanks for quick reply was yours doing the same running full speed. and that's all good but i only have 2 pwm headers on my mobo so i got 2 fans running on my CPU header and now the second header aint running pwm at all

I've got the same PWM splitter and it's worked fine for me on both my current Gigabyte, and previous Asus boards. For reference I am using the CPU_FAN header for the PWM connecter and this regulates the fan speed based on the profile I have set in the BIOS.

It might be worth checking the PWM signal wire is not damaged and is making good contact. I damaged the PWM wire on an old fan some time ago and the result was that it always ran at full speed.

Edit: I guess it's possible the short may have damaged the PWM control on your board. Are you able to control a PWM fan if you connect it directly to the header?
