Me and the missus have spotted an awesome deal on some 19" WideScreen Monitors!

We plan to get a pair, but, the missus' Video card is onyl an X1300, and we had a qucik test with it running at 1280x960 in 4:£ and even with everything turned down to minimum, she was getting a lot of drag and slowness to playing.

So, what would you guys recommend for 1440x900 widescreen gaming as a bare minimum ? As cheap as possible :D

Not bothered about AA and AF eye candy, just slows down lvl loading which the missus hates anyway.

As long as the actual game detail can be turned up to medium and play at that detail lvl, she'll be happy.

Still think a 7600GT will cut it ?

It will, I had a 6800 Ultra (similar/lesser performance) that could play at pretty nice detail levels @ 1440 x 900.

Shhhhhhh... I'll pretend she didnt hear that! lol!

Nahh, she has a Nforce 4 SLI board in that machine, so I'm thinking of getting her either 2x7300GT GDDR3 in SLI, or one 7600GT to begin with and then another later...

My 6600 GT seems to do 1440x900 just fine, CoH runs fine, Quake 4, Doom 3.....blah I dont have an arsenal of games but it does the job. Prety moddest 3200+ CPU as well.

Aye a 7600GT would play that resolution fine, especially if you OC it like mad. Two in SLI would be ace. :)

I still think you should give her one of your X1900GTs though. :p
