Hi guys. This is digging up an old topic on many other forums but I have a new question.
Dat old classic Left 4 Dead 2 is still great IMO, and I used to play it for hours split screen co-op with others. It takes a little CFG file editing, and a little more console bodging, and finally it relies on the game taking control of the 360 controller as Player 2 and letting the Mouse+KB be Player 1.
I've followed loads of different threads and tried a few things to get it to work, including a custom Steam Workshop mod main menu to run splitscreen. All this works to run the split screen function itself... except for getting the 360 Controller to assign to Player 2. I just can't do it.
Before, on my old PC, I would do the console hax in the regular main menu, with the 360 controller plugged in (naturally assigned to P1 on its LED), and then during the level loading screen I'd unplug and plug back in the USB and the 360 would assign itself to Player 2. I don't know if it's time, updates or new systems, but it doesn't do that anymore.
Has anyone had any luck reassigning 360 controllers to P2 etc? When they naturally default to P1. I have confidence it will work if anyone can help me do that.
Would love to hear back. Ciao for now
