Help needed - Restore partition to recover data

I inadvertently deleted a partition on a USB stick whilst installing an OS.
Is there any recommended software (possibly free) to restore the partition on the stick to recover the data.

Did you write new data to the USB, or simply delete the partition table information? If you've written new data ... not likely good news.

Whilst I have not used testdisk personally, I have used PhotoRec from that site, which worked very very well for me. So I personally would give it a try. Photorec worked where a lot of other programs didn't so I'm more inclined to try software from the same group.
