Over in the OcUK Distributed Computing forum we have got together to try to win a one month long challenge to produce more points than any other team this month in the 'Skynet' project.
This is a project where you use your computer to process data from radio telescopes in order to map the night sky looking for stars and galaxies etc.
We are currently leading the challenge but a large team from the EVGA forum are about to overtake us. There are only 6 days left of the challenge.
WE COULD USE ALL THE HELP WE CAN GET!
1) To join us you need to download the Boinc software from http://boinc.berkeley.edu/
2) install it and 'add project' then scroll down and choose 'theSkynet POGS'
3) next go to http://www.theskynet.org and create an account and then join the OcUK team on the same page.
Come over to the Distributed Computing forum if you want to see what's going on and for any help. The project is for CPUs only and we already have some serious firepower with one user using over 200 cpu cores!
