hi, got this new setup a month ago, everything was fine, normal temps.
in the last two days i am getting crazy temps:

on idle: CPU 50c, GFX 62c,
on load: CPU 55c, gfx 75c at least.

specs: E6600 @ 2.4 Ghz & Asus GEFORCE 8800 GTS
GygaByte 965P-S3 & TWINMOS 2GB DDR2 667 Mhz
ENERMAX LIBERTY 500W & AURORA 3D, using the artic cooler freezer 7 pro, all on stock atm, i did oc'ed the cpu once but i think i got all the settings back to the way they should be.

please any help would be appreciated i don't know what else to check, all the fans, rear and front are working correctly.

thanks in advanace

try reseat the hsf

if this fails, lapping is your friend =]

I was seeing similar temps until i lapped my cpu!

I think RMA is a much better option, since his GFX card is only 1 month old!!!

I did a lot of homework on lapping, and pretty much everyone who has done it, hasnt had any problems of any kind, everyone is giving lapping a positive view :P sure its down to him, but id advise it. What do you have to loose? Nothing. What do you have to gain? Upto 10° off the current temps.

By the way mate, what u using to read the temps?

Seems odd that both your cpu and gfx temps have gone up, could be something to do with general airflow in the case. Have a look at your case intake fans, are they grubby any blockages? also check the fins on the cpu cooler and gfx card fan intake for any dust. I cleaned my case out a week ago, my TT and x1900xtx intakes were quite clogged, needless to say temps dropped afterwards. Going to invest in some dust filters. :)

to read the temps i use everest ultimate edition, tat, nvtemplogger for gfx, in all of these i get the same results.

now, those temps above are dangerous? what are the normal temperatures for that cpu and gfx?

and what do you mean by lapping?

btw i forgot to mention, the cpu cooler only runts at 1400 rpm when it can do 2500, should i let it run on its full speed? even though it will make more noise i don't mind.

jeffy everything seems fine with the intake fans, no dust at all within the case.

thanks.

The 8800GTS speeds are fine and to be expected anyways, so its not faulty

What speeds though? we're talking about temperatures :(

You think those temps are valid?

Regarding the CPU, on idle = 51, full load = 62.

my room temp = around 30c.

well yes 30c room temp wow thats high.. mine stuggles to reach 20c and my pc stays below 30c idle..

from the temps you said, my guess is that the hot airs not exhausting quick enough because once its been full load them temps will stay high if no cool airs going in and no hot air going out..

exhausting air is as important as getting it in

You are not going to be able to RMA either the CPU or graphics card as they are both working and the temps you are getting are not excessive. A lot of the 8800 will run in the mid 80's when under load.
Were these temps taken after booting up from cold or after some use, it sounds to me like a case airflow issue and a build up of heat. If its only just started to happen have you checked your air filters?
