I'm wanting to change a light fitting from a flush to the ceiling style to a rose and hanging light, but am stuck at stage one - removing he old unit
I can't figure out how to remove the 4 cables from the current fitting. I was expecting to find 4 small screws which hold each wire. I have undone the one screw holding the two eatrth cables but that purely secures those.
The white bulb holder is fixed in place to the base plate by a small screw on the other side of the base plate, but I haven't got enough slack in the cable to get to the underside. Regardless I can't see how removing the bulb holder from the base plate will allow me to remove the cables?
Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. I hate failing at the first hurdle of a job which I thought should be doable! I also don't fancy ripping it to pieces as I need to be able to reverse things if there is a problem.
Cheers
