help needed upgrade

Due for upgrade for graphics card and have budget of £300 - £350.
been looking at the nvidia Gainward GTX 570 Phantom £320 but looking at ati cards at same price bracket the core/clock speeds are a lot higher .always used nvidia cards unsure about ati cards bad press etc.help.also 1 fast card vs 2 med ranged cards in sli ?

The GTX 480 is a bit of a bargain at the moment.

For £200 a GTX 480 will give you the same performance as a GTX 570:

For £400 GTX 480 SLI will murder a GTX 570:

Depends if you have a meaty enough power supply and can cope with the heat/noise.

I would go for the 480GTX as well, then you can spend the rest on a nice SSD, if you haven't got one already

For whatever difference it makes £360 is for 2x1GB 6950's and that comparison is for 2x2GB 6950's.

Revision 1 2GB 6950's can be flashed to unlock extra cores making them virtually a 6970.

sugar i thought that was for two 1gb's... but still the performance should be a lot better then a single gtx 570
