what I would have done there is unscrew anticlockwise all screws. Take the motherboard off the stand and use pliers to unscrew the standoffs from the motherboard / motherboard tray. Remount new risers and try find screw that matches the risers before hand not after. :) good luck

ok basically i had a bag with the risers in and there was screws in with them and they look like the standard screws i have always used to mount motherboards. Hence me thinking these were the correct ones. The instructions had all the screws pictured but nothing for the motherboard screws ?

so basically i now have 3 risers sticking out my motherboard with screws stuck in them. I have tried numerous screws i have loads in these risers and nothing will fit. I have also tried fitting standard risers but they wont fit in the holes in the mobo tray

i am having a nightmare at this rate my mobo and case will be trashed

is the pliers at back of riser and screw the front of screw only way?

yep from my best knowledge side. That way just be carful and you shudnt damage anything. Take it slow.

ok worry over machine is now built and working fine. In future i will try the screws in the risers 1st before i start to build

Machine rocks

Cheers for all the help guys

Slightly off topic, but does anyone else find it a bit difficult to know which holes in the motherboard tray to put he risers in for that specific mobo? It took me a lot of faffing about with a CD pen in a Super Lanboy, which is really tight fit, to get it right.
Whats the right way to do it?

When I have run into similar problems, I have put a piece of paper under the MOBO, marked all round it, and then marked where the holes are. This makes a template which you can lay on the backplate/tray and you will easily identify the correct positions for the risers.

I ended up putting the mobo in with no risers, then getting a pen and like marking to the left and bottom of the mobo with a cd pen where to put them and then kinda guessed which ones in that line it was,put the mobo in, and then had to clean the pen marks off with spit and a Q-tip! :D
