right, my pc blue screened, then reset itself. Rebooted and says that hal.dll file is missing, rebooted computer again, and there was a slight popping noise and little smell. Now all the LED's on the mobo light up when connected to power, try to turn it on fans on gpu and cpu spin for a split second then nothing. Have taken all the ram out, still nothing, disconnect all the devices, still the same, reset bios, nothing, just have power going into the mobo nothing else, still dead, so what is it :(

system is:

e6600
abit fp-in9sli
thermaltake 680watt purepower
bfg 8800gts

Try re-seating the CPU first off.

Get the system to its bare essentials...ie cpu, ram and psu...just to see if you can get it spinning up, regardless of a graphics card.

It could also be the PSU, just randomly gone bang, which is always helpfull...But like i said above, disconnect everything, literally everything and just have the above in, hell do it without the RAM as well.
