Newbie Server here. :)

I have just got myself a HP N36L, 4gb, 2 x 1TB, 1 x 3TB and a 320GB notebook drive used for the OS install.

I'm a bit stuck on a few areas..:D

So last night I first tried to install WHS 2011 but that wouldn't install it got stuck so I aborted the installation and instead installed Windows Server 2012.

I'm now left with a part installation on a 1TB drive (it shows on the bootloader) which I can't remove under Disk Management. Any ideas?

Also I need to transfer my TV and Film data off my Qnap TS-219P NAS - I did try to Map External Drive but Windows doesn't see it. Although when I connected my Macbook Pro I could connect to the Windows Server and could drag and drop files, but this was only 10mb/10mb so too slow, any ideas?

Just a thought can I just drop in the Qnap Drive into the Microserver and use some software to read the data off it?

Are you using gigabit capable wiring?

You should be able to drop the QNAP disks into the server yeah, assuming they're just normal (no raid etc) it'll just mount them and allow you to read from them instantly.

High, yes Cat5 with Gig switch. I've hit 30's from the Macbook to the Qnap so I think that side is okay.. I'll look into fitting the Qnap drive its just standard, no Raid..
