Yo, got a seriously annoying issue with a PC and I can wrap my head around it and any insight/input is most welcome.

The PC is hard shutting off and instantly rebooting once it has been active for 1-2 hours. It will continue to keep crashing and restarting until turned off for an extended period of time. The problem is getting more frequent (more time needed turned off).

All temperatures are good on everything that I can monitor (CPU, GPU and vrms).

Drivers/etc are up to date.

It will crash in any 3D application, but typically the more stressful the application is the quicker it crashes.

The PSU is making a semi weird sound, defiantly not a normal sound - A Bzzz sound.

So basically I've been thinking it a PSU issue, but I'm guessing it could be motherboard as well. Anyone got any experience with anything like this?

Well any buzzing from a psu is not normal and from what you describe it sounds the root of the problem, I'd get it swapped out asap before it potentially damages other components.

Does it sound like a slight coil whine or something more serious? Definitely switch the PSU out first and see if that solves your problems though, because as ketma says, if it is the PSU it needs to be changed before it damages other components in your system.

Id be double checking the capacitors on the mobo. Very reminiscent of the old dell problems with theirs though everyone should really be using quality caps these days.

It doesn't sound like coil whine, no, more like electrical BZZZZZ. Its not super loud but is certainly audible.

I had a look at the cap's on the motherboard and couldn't see any obvious sign of any problem. Doesn't mean there isn't one though.

I'll try get another PSU to start ruling out pieces of hardware.

Thanks the the replies.
