Just received my Holux 240 GPS receiver and paired it with my Nokia N73 which is running Tom Tom v 6.010 (GPS driver v1.20).

Phone connects to GPS device but I get 'Waiting for a valid GPS signal'.

The bluetooth and Sat (I think its Sat, it's orange with swirling lines!) LEDs are lit on the receiver?

Any ideas?

Thanks

reset the n73 and try again

also wait a few mins for the thing to get the signal and lastly make sure you are outside ;)

Thanks - perhaps I was a little impatient!
Checked the GPS status from within the app and 3 bars out of 20 had values, which I assume, suggests the receiver could 'see' 3 satellites?
I'll nip out again later and have another go.

I can't believe how small this GPS receiver is - I was beginning to feel I'd paid the price for such a tiny device, i.e. poor reception.

When the orange light is constant, it is searching for satelites. When the orange light is flashing, it has a lock on to some satelites. Best thing is to switch the gps receiver on until it starts flashing orange, then start up tomtom.

Thanks for the advice. Funnily enough I didn't realise this at first - I assumed the fact it was lit meant it had acquired a position from the sats.

The instruction manual which came with the device was useless! I went to the Holux web site and downloaded a pdf which contained much more detail inc. what the LEDs describe depending on status.

Once it's working it's very good. Tried it last night. :)
