Hi,
Although I work as an IT techie, I have little interest in the latest hardware etc so when it comes to choosing hardware for builds im a bit of noob.
I very rarely game but would still like a reasonably decent graphics card for the odd occasion that I do. I run a fair amount of virtual machines/router simulations for Cisco studies. I don't really need any large storage on the computer as my media is all stored on a separate server.
I'd like an SSD main drive (or if the budget allows maybe 2 in a RAID 0 config).
I currently have an Antec 300 case and don't mind getting another, but if there's anything else around the same price im open to suggestions. Preferably fairly quiet as its often left running overnight, as long as its not really loud this isn't a huge issue.
Budget around £1000 for the base unit excluding the OS.
I'd also like 2 x 24" monitors for up to £400 if you have any suggestions on which ones to get.
Thanks for any suggestions.

this is what i've come up with. dont forget you can get free shipping

also, there is an epic deal going on with the H50's right now. enter promo code "h50promo" to get £11 off the H50. should bring the price down to ~£975

im not sure, but i believe the Nvidia cards will help you with what your doing. i'll wait till someone can confirm this (i can never remember what all their special features do)

Thanks, that seems to pretty much fit the bill. Any other suggestions/comments would be good, but that looks ideal.
edit: that was first the first spec, just checking the 2nd one now.

just changed the ram in my build to save you a fiver. originally i went for the more expensive stuff so it wouldnt get in the way of any processor coolers, completely forgetting that the H50 cooler gets nowhere near the ram

I did the opposite and put the more expensive RAM in and bumped the graphics card up to a 5850 (as I didn't see the free P&P) :D

This.

Thanks, just placed the order, went for pretty much the spec above, except doubled up the SSD's. Is there any issues running the SSD's in RAID 0?
