Hello all, hope you can help.

Recently my motherboard and processor have died on me, I did have a core2 E660 but now I might as well get a quadcore since I’m dipping my hand in my wallet. However It’s being a long time since I looked at hardware and until these past few days I didn’t really know what was out there.

After a little reading I’m thinking of getting an I5 750 setup however
In about six months time I’ll be leaving the country for a while, have no idea when I’ll be coming back, there is also the chance that I will be moving abroad for a prolonged length of time, if that is the case I will hopefully ship it over.

This leaves me with a puzzler, do I spend a large proportion of my cash (about £400) on what I would ideally like the I5 750, motherboard (not sure what board yet) and I would also like at least 4gb ram DDR3, or do I buy a cheaper quadcore setup.

Are the I5 750’s really that much of an improvement over other quadcores for a gamer like me, or can you recommend a cheaper but effective quadcore setup. As a guide it would be nice to play BFBC2 on highish settings, here is a list of what survived...

8800 gts 640 mb
Geil 2x1gb 800mhz ddr2
OCZ gamexstream 600w
Antec nine Hundred

hope you guys and girls can help.
