Hey guys hope you can help. I have an open reach master socket. The incoming wires from the main box outside are orange connected to A and white to B.

I have wired a cat 5 cable from here to a MK slave socket. I went orange from (master) A into number 3 on the MK slave, white/orange from B into number 4.

I thought this would be straight forward but not at all. Could someone tell me what to do to make this work please. Thanks in advance

You shouldn't be connecting to A&B, they're for BT's incoming wires.

Unless the socket is really ancient it'll have terminals on the front (behind the user-removable front plate) where you're supposed to connect any extension wiring.

At the slave end, I think you should be using 2&5.

If in doubt post photos of what you've got.
