help needed

hi all im having problems with my pc.
1. when i first turn it on in the morning it starts loading windows up then freezes while loading, then won't go any further so i restart the pc and it always works the second time fine.
2. when in windows it sometimes restarts itself without any warnings (automatic restart on errors is turned off), sometimes it just freezes whilst in windows and won't respond to any command.

p4 3.4ghz
1 gig ram
400 gb hdds
nvidia 5700le
windows xp home

First see if the fans or working and heatsinks are clean.If they are a reinstall of windows fixes most non hardware problems.

Time to start testing hardware then. Have you a spare psu .

i did a few test swapped the ram removed 1 stick, disconnected 1 hdd and disconnected optical drives but nothing fixed it, at the moment im in safe mode and it seems fine so does that mean its a driver conflict
