I'm no networking guru, infact far from it so bare with me if this seems a bit noobish. My GF has purchased a Belkin N1 Wireless Modem-Router and i'm tearing my hair out trying to get it working.

Firstly, she's initially been using a speedtouch USB modem. The installation guide suggests that a seperate modem is required (non USB) to plug into the router to be able to gain access to the internet. Is this correct? I thought the modem-router would be able to dial a connection through the phone line for ADSL, as the name suggests? (Modem-Router)

If i run through the installation process on the CD, it tells me that "The setup assistant is not able to connect the router via any of the network adapters on this computer" despite the fact that it is plugged directly into the motherboards LAN adapter.

Only way i can connect to the internet is to unplug the routers line into the ADSL and plug the speedtouch USB modem back into it....any ideas?

TIA

Hi, Cheers for the reply.

Unfortunately i'm at home at the mo so i'm unable to answer the questions about whether it's gaining an IP address. I'll let you know as soon as i'm back at hers in the week sometime.

I'll check the exact model number also. I wasn't expecting it to work if it wasn't configured, infact, i'm not even sure why i wrote that :)

I'll get back to you as soon as i can, thanks again.
