help needed

So we transfered my son's old motherboard etc into a new case and added 2x8gb ram

Power it up all the lights are on fans are spinning but won't bootup. Power it all down put old ram in heiress up but said error 512 rear chassis fan not detected (it's there and spinning happily) turn her off to try and enter bios settings (Internet search) and back to absolutely nothing .

One dissapointed son any help ideas appreciated

Voltage may not be enough for new ram, try one stick at a time. Once had a mobo not boot cos of fan temp error. I disabled fan monitoring in bios, and all was fine. Good luck.

If voltage doesn't work try removing battery/clearing Cmos mate. Hope you get to the bottom of it pal.

When you say 'absolutely nothing' do you mean no life at all or no display?

The first thing to do is reset the BIOS. Either remove the battery for 5 minutes or use the reset jumper.

If that doesn't work it may be a PSU or case shorting issue. I know it's a pain, but try running the whole thing outside the case.

Disappointed sons are not good, hopefully you get it sorted
