Help needed

My son is getting into pc gaming, at the moment he has a ps4 and an xbox so im looking into getting him a gaming pc but really unsure what im looking for, do i go Amd or Intel? Radeon Or Nvidia? its all so confusing i have a budget of £750 and will get the monitor mouse etc seperate and ideas what to get?

Thanks for replying, im looking at a pre-built machine with a view to building one in around 18 months if his interest is still there for pc gaming. The games he plays are Gta, Cod, Borderlands and Fallout type games. Not sure on the OS im undecided on Windows or linux, but suggestions are more than welcome.

Implosiveturnip, Thanks for your imput, i'll got through what you've suggested as i have decided to build one now as you and Quartz have made me see sense so i thank you both, also whilst im here can you suggest a monitor and Keyboard/mouse?.
