Salutation,
I've come in need of some advice, I'm not very good with understanding subnets and vlans and as a result I'm stuck on a piece of course work. So my question is this I have 500 computers in my network I know the maximum amount of computers my network can hold is 254 (-2) so would this mean by subnetting the network I can have 500 computers within a (single) network design. Lets say subnetting the network into two means I can then only hold 128 users per network which again leaves me with the 254 all together. Or do I need to start looking into VLANS.
