I have just completed a new build, see link for earlier details:

And did have it up and running on the first day (Wednesday), installed Win7 64bit, Afterburner from the disk & a couple of games (DoW I & WoW) then ran the restore point program and created a repair disk.
My internet adapter didn't work but ordered a new one from OC -which arrived today) in order to continue to update the system & drivers.

The system worked fine wed night & thurs but went to switch it on this morning and nothing! I have checked all the cables and they all appeared to be connected fine, all the fans (PSU,CPU,GPU & Cooling) appear to be running and the 'mem ok' light is a constant red on the MoB. The dvd tray works fine and sounds like it's spinning up.

The screen is completely blank though and I don't think I can hear the HDD (Samsung F3 spinpoint - 1TB). The system does not boot so I cannot get to the BIOS.

Any suggestions ???

Cheers

Well removing the battery seems to have worked, it's now booted up through to windows, one thing was during the load to windows the screen went blank and appeared to reboot the screen alone, then it loaded straight to the windows desktop.

Now that I am in windows is there anything I can do to check the BIOs or make sure that this does not happen again ?

Your system was unhappy that you didn't wait a few days and get a 6850 :p. It'll get over it. Screen flickering when loading windows is normal as it adjusts resolutions. Especially if you've just installed new drivers. Not really any checking of your bios that can be done. Were you playing around with overclocking?

Nope the only thing I've changes in the BIOS was the boot up drives.
No over clocking yet - had a look in MSI afterburner but didn't change any settings, figured I'd get everything loaded & up to date before I messed with overclocking the system.

ha ha I'll wait for the 28nm gpu's - I wasn't going hi-spec gpu first time around anyway :P

either way it's an upgrade on the old Geforce 6200 I used to have!
