Hi All,

I am having a bit of a problem with my new PC build. I have been building it today and have just tried booting for the first time. The power lights come on, blu ray spins, and fans spin but it doesn't do anything else and I get no output to the screen.

There is a memory OK light on the motherboard that is continuiously on which according to the manual means that the memory is either not properly installed or not compatible. I have reinstalled the memory and tried pressing the button next to the memory ok light (it says in the manual that it should start flashing but it doesnt).

Any Ideas?

Motherboard - Asus P6X58D-E X58
Memory - Corsair 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 1600MHz XMS3 Memory Kit CL9(9-9-9-24) 1.65V

TIA

Hi, Just tried each of the 3 sticks (3x2GB) in A1,B1&C1 slots in turn (so 9 tries) and none of the combinations work.

How do i clear CMOS?

Remove the power cord from the power supply, wait thirty seconds, press Power On button to clear any remaining charge, clear CMOS for five seconds, reattach the power cord, power on the system.if you look in your manual it show you a jumper you just move across leave it for 5 secs then put it back :)

Hi cleared the CMOS but its still not working

I think 3 dodgy ram sticks has to be very unlikely, and from what I can see the ram is compatible with the motherboard so it must be a configuration setting or something non ram related.

Any ideas ?

only thing i can think of is to check all your cables and reseat gpu etc and you could try taking out the battery on motherboard leave for 5 mins and then do the CMOS again...
