Just received my 2nd hand Q6600 low vid chip yesterday and was shocked to discover it had no pins

Shows how long I've been out of the Intel game since I've had AMD setups for the last 7 years.

I thought I had been conned until I googled some pictures to check! :p

When did Intel stop putting pins on the cpu then?

When they moved to the LGA775 socket - so late Pentium 4 days.

If you look on the motherboard, you should find all the pins in the socket there. :)

Not got motherboard yet. Arrived this morning and sat at home waiting for me.

New build planned for this weekend so long as memory arrives tomorrow as expected.

Should be fun learning all this complicated Intel bios overclocking stuff. Life was simplier in the old days ;)

Cheers JD. No memory arrived today so can't build until Tuesday night :(

Oh well, one last weeked with my my baby AMD setup. DFI board already sold so I must disassemble and get ready for shipping on Tuesday.

No only ever had the expert. Cracking board and the best for amd.

The previous amd board I had to it would only get my 4200+ to 2.5Ghz. The DFI expert got me to 3Ghz 24/7

I might spend a bit of time running game/synthetic benchmarks. Just to see how much better my new Intel setup is in comparison
