Hi there

In the past I built myself a new PC (which subsequently EXPLODED! Ok not really, but I did get smoke coming out the back). Eventually I got back it up and running but vowed not to build one again. Its time for a brand new PC, I want everything new, monitor, mouse and keyboard awell.

Mainly I want it for watching films and playing music but I also want it good enough so that it won't struggle running the latest games (doesn't have to be running on the very highest settings though).

Total budget around £900 to £1000.

Can you help? :)

Welcome to the forums, are you about to break your vow or do you want someone to point you in the direction of OcUKs full systems? If you are happy to build it yourself then the system below may be suitable and should overclock rather nicely. :)

Thank you, that's really good and looking exactly along the lines I was looking for :)

I am indeed thinking of breaking my vow and giving it another go, with some help from my brother when it comes time to put it all together.

One thing I was thinking of, was this monitor:
Belinea 2225S1W 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black/Silver
£179.99 (£211.49)

A little bit bigger than the one you suggested above but still seems to be cheap (and well recommended) for its size. What do you think?

No problem, I don't know too much about monitors however there is a sub-forum on here that has a lot of very knowledgeable people posting in it that could no doubt help. The only things that I'd have against the Belinea is that it doesn't have a digital input (not massively important in terms of quality for most things but I do prefer them) and the resolution is the same as the Dell. If the folks in Monitors recommend the Belinea though I'd defer to their superior knowledge. :)
