Hi all,

I hope someone can help me! I was on my pc this morning and everything was working as it should.

An hour after switching it off my girlfriend came home for dinner and turned it on. It seemed to boot up but the monitor displayed 'No Signal'.

I have tried reseating the graphics card, reseating the RAM, swapped RAM sticks and tried with just one stick...etc. I have also grabbed an old graphics card from another machine and it does the same but works fine when I put it back in the other machine! So I don't think it's graphics card related.

When I turn it on I get the normal post beeps but then nothing. The hard drives don't seem to be doing much and there is no sound played when windows starts up.

I have an ASUS P5Q-Pro board with a Sapphire 4850 (the fan spins and the lights flash on top when switched on).

Does anybody know what could possibly be wrong? It's really strange how it was fine this morning but now it doesn't work and it hasn't been touched!

Many thanks.

Not sure I can get into safe mode without seeing what is on the screen. I'll give it a go though.

I'll clear the CMOS now. If I can figure out how to do it!!

Ok, I've tried both of the options above and none seemed to have worked!

I've also tried my graphics card in the other machine and everything is fine with that. So i'm 100% sure it's not the card.

I've tried the monitor and cable in a different pc and also my graphics card in a different pc and everything was fine.

Unplug everything apart from cpu, gfx, psu and memory.

Where possible test other components in their place.

This will help to narrow down the cause of the problem. If this fails it could be pointing to your mobo.
