I have a J&w intel P35D pro mainboard and i can't get no sound to come through my creative 2.1 speakers with the onboard sound card. The onboard sound card is a realtek ALC883 @ Intel 82801IB ICH9 - High Definition Audio Controller. I have a old soundcard in another pc that i tried on this board and that works but can't get the onboard one to work. My brother has just brought a Abit IP35 Pro Motherboard from overclockers and that is the same with no sound coming out. Can anyone shed some light on what we may be doing wrong.

Have you enabled the onboard sound in the bios? i do believe realtek is called 'azaelia' or similar spelling in the bios opitions.
Have you turned up the volume in windows?
Have you chosen the realtek onboard sounds as the correct playback device in windows sound options?
Have you plugged in the cables in the correct ports?
Have you installed the drivers correctly?

I checked all the above, In device manager the card is callied high definition audio device and not realtek. Is that right, and in windows sound option it says headphones and digital output device.
