Hi guys, I've never overclocked an athlon 64 before so bear with me. Im running a gigabyte k8n-sli with a 3700+ san diego and 4*512 value ram. I understand that I shouldnt expect anything at all amzing from my ram but I don't seem to be able to oc at all. In my BIOS there are two menus I am using to overclock. "advanced chipset features" and a menu offering all the cpu settings. I cannot find a divider setting anywhere but it allows me to set the ram fsb speed and the processor one seperately which i assume is the same. leaving my ram at 200mhz and increasing the cpu to 220 leaves me unable to post. Even if i slacken every ram timing to the largest amount possible I barely get any where. Please help guys as I know i should be able to get something decent out of this cpu.

okay, well with the BIOS update i now have the divider function and it shows the relative memory speed as you tinker with the cpu fsb which is nice. More to the point I still can't get anything out of my chip, is there a setting I'm missing, I assume I wouldn't need to alter any voltages for a 20mhz increase, and RAM timings can be ignored as im using the divider. ANy help is much appreciated guys.

well I tried both of those and still no go, I would like to use a higher HT multiplier as there seems to be no performance gain between running my processor at stock and running at 240FSB with a 2x HT multi.

i recnetly read an artical on HT multis and it seems that if it is set too low it hardly makes a difference but if its to high it will cause big problems so i wouldnt worry about setting it to low, 3x is fine
