hey guys, ive noticed since having my ocuk bundle i3 530 8gb of ram that every so ofter the system just stalls. ive learnt to live with this over the year. so i today to look into it a little bit more, i do mem test. instantly get a bsod. reboot pc run cpuz to find its running at ram is running 9 9 9 28 instead id 9-9-9-24. ok so i go into bios, load defaults. cpu-z is now telling me 9-9-9-24 dran freq 666.7

ram is the CMX4GXM2A1600C9. 2GB MODULES X 4 (8GB)

im now running mem test and am at 55% with no crash/errors. but my cpu speed is back at 2933 when it shud be o/c to 3.4 or something like that....

so here is my plan, will this work ???

im going to load the ocuk profile, write down all the (CPU ONLY) settings, then load defaults go back and change the cpu settings to same as ocuk profile but leave the memory settings alone if this makes sence...

what do u guys think ???

Which memtest are you running?

Ideally you should be using this -link - and loading it up from a bootable ISO (scroll down the page for the d/l).

I would return the system to optimised defaults (as you have a saved OcUK profile) and then set the memory up manaully to it's optimum settings and then run memtest for 6hrs minimum or until it buckles (if it buckles):

  • Command Rate - 2T
  • Timings - 9 9 9 24
  • Frequency - 1600
  • 1.65V

Running the test at stock settings will eliminate an unstable clock causing memtest to fail - and if the memory were to fail at stock then you will need to check each stick indavidually to try and determine if it's a faulty stick, DIMM slot or other...
