help on akasa venom cpu cooler

ok.

see the X shaped piece? look at the four Leg looking things attached to it, they can be moved. see the diagram in the manual?

move those into the LGA 1156 position, once done you should be able to push those Legs through the four holes in you motherboard so that on the Back of the motherboard you have a big metal X, on the front you'll have your processor socket and four metal spikes around it. yes?

open the socket and put your processor in, close the socket and squeeze a garden-pea sized amount of thermal paste onto the centre.

now grab the device that looks like a massive radiator, remove all the bits of plastic and mount this, this will have a metal X shape on it's undercarriage which corresponds to the four spikes you now have jutting out of your mobo.

once it's on, get the thumb screws out and place them onto the metal spikes, use a star head (posidrive, philips) screwdriver to tighten them. Do not overtighten them as you will kill your mobo.

once done your left with the fan - the Akasa label side sucks, the other side blows, work out your case flow and proceed to the next step.

get the bright yellow rubber nobbly bobblies out, you need to pull these through the holes on the fan, these are then used to mount the fan to the cooler which has four holes, two on top, two beneath. i could explain this part but it's awkward to explain, how you do it will become clear to you, you'll just 'get it', trust.

good luck!
