Dont bother with bulldozer! I've spec'd the AMD Llano as you can use it's onboard graphics, it is gaming capable and your friend can look to upgrade the GPU later if he wants to.

Download the preview of windows 8 until he can afford an OS. Hope this helps to be fair your friend is asking a lot!

hes got a hard drive with vista on maybe this will work it is an ide drive though will that still work nowadays

also got a vista disk i think

IDE has been dropped from pretty much all current mobos :( To use it you would need an adapter.

Vista is garbage really if it's the 32bit version he can't use more than 4GB of RAM. I added 8GB of RAM as the mobo only has 2 DIMM slots so if you install 4GB there is no room to expand.

its the 64bit version

what i think is he will have to buy the machine in 2 stages buy some now some later and hope to have it up and running in a months time

windows 7 is the way to go i dont think d3 is compatible with windows 8 yet

like i say it just a machine for d3 as he works away a lot he doesnt want a laptop but wants a small pc he can leave at the digs for the weekend when he come home to hes main pc so it doesnt need room for expansion or anything fancy just needs to work and play d3

think imma go for the micro atx range as will be more compact

If he is just using it for diablo 3 i stuck in a small SSD. Will boot the OS quicker and shorten load times in game.

I know the diablo 3 beta worked on Windows 8DC. Won't be long before we know if the retail game does for sure.
