Hi, i've been looking to buy/build a gaming pc almost for the past 4 years, but haven't got a chance too.. i've been basically living on lag (can't even play bf2 on low, lol), because of my rubbish integrated cards...
So now my budget is £2000... i would like no lag whatsoever, on my new pc..

Here are some of the things that i would like to include in this,
GTX 295
Core i7 (not sure which one) 920 to the 965 is a massive price gap. Also what is the difference between the 920 and the 965.. obviously its big but don't know what it is
Good motherboard, Asus Rampage II Extreme maybe....
Good Monitor/ HD, above 22"
Power Supply over 1000W... not sure its necessary/ please advice :D
Gaming mouse and keyboard
Also an awesome big case ;)
Im always confused about soundcards and the temperature of the PC... does it affect the performance a lot?!?!..

Lol, i hope someone can help me... im not sure if all this is necessary but i need 1 that will be able to handle all the new games, with no lag because i have waited so long....

ORRR... shall i save up a little more and wait for something else to come out

Thanks ;)

Well, if you really want a system that will nail anything

No point saying 'well I'll wait for something better, beacause you'll be in a constant cycle, may as well go for the plunge!

theres a thread somewhere debating if the i7 965 is a waste of money as it doesnt offer much difference than the 920, buuuut seeing your budget you could get the 920 and get something else
1000W may be overkill unless your going sli or crossfireX, though i could be mistaken
the 295 is probably best used for monitors over 24"

Whats that OCZ vertex hardrive??
30gb for £120

Yea i could go a little over £2000...but it has to be less than £2500 ;)

Also what about gaming mouses and keyboards, im always confused about do they affect your gaming, dpi and all that stuff...

Thanks

Utterly pointless going with a 30gb ssd, you'll just about manage to get your os and 1 game on. Also whats with the cheap 1333mhz ram, and non modular psu? Here's my suggestion although the rampage II imo is a bit over the top, a P6T deluxe would do you just fine.

No need for a 1000w+ psu for that spec although if you did want to add another 295 at a later date then it would be advisable.

Yes, its a SSD, much much faster than a SATA, and its the single level cell variety with good write speeds as well as reads, you can get a SSD cheaper but they tend to have "relatively" poor write performance as they use multi level cells. I put thatin for your OS and programs, then a WD Caviar Green for your storage. The green runs nice n quiet, as does the SSD, and the case Ive included is kinda a dream case, you could save a lot of money there if you wanted to, but I figured with your budget why not? lol
