Hi have just carried out my first CPU upgrade A6 to A10 everything seemed to be going well until I checked the temps on the UEFI and HWmonitor the A10 is running at what seem to be very high temps 55-60C at idle and when I started a Prime95 test temp shot up to 103c very quickly any advice would be appreciated.

ok have just spent a couple of hours removing and re-seating the CPU with new thermal paste, getting the same temp readings as originals. Next move was remove the new A10 and replace it with the original A6 to test my skills at applying thermal paste and attaching the cooler and prove to myself that I'm doing the job correctly.

Temps on the A6 are close to what I had with the A10 installed, not quite as high, but still way above what most information I can find suggests is safe. Could someone point me in which direction I should go next.

One thing I did notice is the contact area on the stock cooler doesn't cover the whole CPU is this the norm? shouldn't the stock cooler be capable of keeping the CPU within it's operating temp specs?

There are going to be a few firsts for me by the sounds of things during this learning curve, BIOS update and Clearing CMOS I have never done either, one thing is the system is fairly new so I'm assuming the BIOS and CMOS should be fairly up to date.

Ok back home out of interest I booted into the ASrock UEFI after checking the HWinfo readings again HWinfo is reporting at idle Vcore 0.975v the ASrock UEFI is reporting vcore as 1.344v which one should I be using?.... have shut it down and am about to reset the CMOS.

Have reset CMOS and used the UEFI to Flash the BIOS, allowed the CMOS to boot to it's default settings when asked on start up then re checked the Bios which is reporting the Firmware is up to date... UEFI and HWinfo are still reporting the same info about Voltage and Temps. where do I go next?
