Hi Guys,

Just posting as my second hand HP ProBook 4320's Battery is lasting less than an hour maybe 40 minutes tops, and as I am using my Laptop more and more, I need the battery life to be lasting a good 2 to 3 hours to get work done.

I found this battery on ebay that fits my laptop, but it has a higher voltage at 11.1V and at 6600mah, whereas my original battery has 10.8V at 4200mah, will this at all damage my laptop? or could I even get something bigger around 8000mah?

Thanks
Rob

This all comes down to your power settings. Pick a profile you want exclusively for unplugged battery life then set the maximum CPU usage to 10% and minimum to 5%. Make sure you set your graphics to maximum battery life too. Drop the screen brightness to 0-10% and you should last 3-4 hours. I hardly notice the difference between high performance and my powersaving either with an i3 380m cpu. Can even watch HD mkvs without problem and do anything I throw at it bar gaming.

At default my 4320s battery lasts 1 - 2 hours. With a few tweeks it goes on for ages.

Grab an extended battery for even greater life using the above settings.

Thanks Scrutinize, I Gave It ago and im getting around 1 hour out of the battery now on powersaver with all these settings =/ So I'm betting its time for a new battery,

Any ideas on the battery voltage/mah issue?

I would recommend you get a direct HP replacement battery. Look at the serial and product code on your battery and laptop and go with that. A lot of these 3rd party laptop batteries require a bios update to get working = do not want...

Have a look on HPs uk shop or support site for your product then you will find the battery to buy + a load of other spares peripherals. If in doubt give their UK business sales number a call. They are usually reasonably priced and as it is a business notebook dealing with their business support lines / sales is pure win (unlike home support)

You need the product code and possibly serial no. off your laptop found underneath below the serial number, for example, mine is XX826EA.

You'll be fine with any replacement battery. There's no BIOS update necessary, and anyway, you should always update your BIOS if there's an update availabe. It's a simple one click process these days.

Pick the right model battery for your model laptop and you're away. In addition, you can sometimes pick up great deals on the 9 cells too for even better battery life.
