Hello.

I would like to get some input from some knowledgeable people who really understand hardware components (as not sure if majority of Curry's Staff are up to scratch).

So I have a a budget of around £1000 / 1k
Its for a desktop replacement so screen 17" preferably although I'm currently using a 15" and its adequate when using a secondary monitor so I may still be turned to a 15" for the right reason.

Work Laptop Using for:
Multitasking Multiple Adobe Suits programs
Video Editing
Photo Editing
Web / Mobile Development
Movies
Internet
(No Gaming)

Screen is important and I will watch all my TV, Movies etc on this. Currently I have 1080p screen.

Preferably I should probably go for a Mac but I have heard good things about some new 1080p screens which are coming close to rivaling the Retina Displays. Is this True?

Can people throw me some links to some machines which would meet this spec please.

My current build is:
I use it for everything and its (just) about holding up tasks (just!). Starting becoming laggy with multiple Adobe programs running.

So something which blows this out of the park would be highly appreciated.

I can go slightly higher on budget but my thinking is if I go much higher I might as well purchase a Mac.

Thank you for any help and advice.
