Today at work had an bit of an argument with the person I work with and then afterwards that person picked up my work bag and threw it which caused my note 8 mobile phone to smash which was inside my work bag..

Report to police.

Criminal damage by the sounds of it.
That what I was thinking of doing...

As this guy has no interest at all in paying for it....He not even sorry at all...Just comes out with my work bag should not of been were it was and should have been in a locker...

Check its on CCTV.

Send a letter before action giving him 7 dasys to pay, then on to small claims.

I wouldn't mess about

Talk to your boss tell them what you are doing and report to Police if they have no interest in remedying the situation.

Have to say I'd have a hard time these days keeping my temper if that happened to me.

No CCTV covering that part...

We had a small argument over who was going use one the big work benches in are work shop as we both needed it. so after the argument he picked up the work bench and threw it then then after he threw that he picked up my work bag which was on a different work bench and threw that across the work shop..

Police. HR and then small claims court in that order.

Its criminal damage, he shouldn't act like a **** at work and he should pay for it...... both the cost of the phone and with his job

If he threw anything in your direction, I'd be going to your boss fully expecting some form of disciplinary.

Any witnesses? Going to be hard to prove he broke the phone without them so I expect the police to do nothing.

I'd actually say you're unlikely to get any form of reimbursement from your company or the police. Your best bet is to hope the offender gives you the money :(

When asked about it by the bosses he admitted to the bosses that he didn't know my mobile phone was in the bag at the time when he threw it..

But I don't know if he will admit it to the police...

There going be no chance of him paying me unless forced to by the police or small claims court..

If your boss and / or the police are useless, find out where he lives and coverty lob a brick through his window.

He don't own the place where he lives...Also this guy is not worth me getting locked up over ;)

Plus I would worry that he would cause damage to my car if I did that as my car less then 2 years old and he has a car he paid £250 for

This guy owns nothing at all over here that worth any money I know of

I would have smashed his head in and took what he owned, as compensation.

If someone done that to me you would need an army behind you. Not right to work and do things like that to colleagues at work.

Either go the legal route, the grey route or just take him out.

It happened to my friend, he works in an meat packing factory with loads of polish, some polish guy threatened him and smashed his phone while he was holding it. My friend said "Get in the freezer now and I will show you how hard you are" No CCTV in the freezers. :p

Nothing happened but my mate lost a £300 pound phone. :(
