Help on Windows 7 laptop not booting, but I don't have physical access to the laptop

Could anyone offer any advice on the following.

I'm trying to help someone who's Windows 7 laptop has stopped booting, and returning a message boot failure before loading Windows. From what I can gather the HDD is either damaged, or become corrupt. My problem however is I don't have any access to the laptop, so i'm trying to help this person remotely only.

My current thoughts are to make a Windows 7 recovery USB, or recovery boot disk, sent it to this person and hope Windows 7 could recover itself from this.

It's a bit of a long shot I know, but can anyone shed any light on the above, or have any other suggestions, I do understand it will be very difficult without access to the laptop.

If no bootable devices found, it could be just need the drive reseated, I've seen this a few times with laptops.

Yep bootable USB with Win ISO, ensuring usb booting is on in BIOS

You going to be doing some explaining if you are wanting 7 back on. If the drive is dead you going to need a new one plus formatting.

Do you have a link where I could download Win 7 ISO from, i'm referring from Microsoft of course.

Yes that's possible, but I don't have access to the computer to try this.
