Hello. I am considering changing ISP from Virgin to an as yet unknown. Currently we all connect to virgin through wireless and I have a question about speeds. Basically, I want to know whether the download speed from your broadband provider is more reliant on how good your wireless connection is rather than what you get from your provider? I just get the feeling that we are not really getting the best use out of our 80MBPS option, when really the 30 MBPS will do just as well. I get superior download speeds to my 2 housemates, and im fairly sure thats because I have better equipment (TP link wireless USB). I am looking to downgrade the speed to 30 MBPS. We dont really use torrents, we do stream the occasional film or stuff from i-player however (and on more than one machine).

Out of interest what download speeds are you getting at the moment? The speed of your router, quality of the cabling in your area, and package with your ISP are all contributing factors to your final speed.
